The singers who passed the preliminary round held on 15 and 16 June at the Madrid School of Singing will be joined in the semi-final round by successful applicants taking part in Florence and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.<\/p>\n<p>The seven contestants chosen by the judging panel are sopranos\u00a0<strong>Berna Perles<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Blanca Valido<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Mar\u00eda del Alba Moreno Chantar<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Anna Niebla Guarinos<\/strong>\u00a0from Spain and\u00a0<strong>Olena Sloia<\/strong>\u00a0from Ukraine, and mezzo-sopranos\u00a0<strong>Olga Syniakova<\/strong>\u00a0from Ukraine and\u00a0<strong>Elizabeth Gillming<\/strong>\u00a0from France. They will all take part in the semi-final round on 25 and 26 September in the Alfredo Kraus Auditorium, in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.<\/p>\n<p>The first preliminary round of the VI CICAK 2017 Singing Competition was held in the theatre of the Madrid School of Singing on Thursday 15 and Friday 16 June.\u00a0<strong>Sixteen applicants from five countries<\/strong>\u00a0took part.<\/p>\n<p>The judging panel comprised the Chair of the Fundaci\u00f3n Internacional Alfredo Kraus and the VI CICAK,\u00a0<strong>Rosa Kraus Ley<\/strong>; the artistic director of the Singing Competition and the Foundation,\u00a0<strong>Mario Pontiggia<\/strong>; the director of the Madrid School of Singing,\u00a0<strong>Julio Alexis Mu\u00f1oz<\/strong>, and the School\u2019s deputy director,\u00a0<strong>Sara Matarranz<\/strong>. After hearing the applicants and casting votes from two to nine points, the judges considered those with a score of seven or more eligible to enter the semi-final round in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.<\/p>\n<p>The next stage of the competition will be held at the Opera of Florence on 5 and 6 July.
