{"id":241,"date":"2021-10-03T11:28:52","date_gmt":"2021-10-03T11:28:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cicakraus.com\/?page_id=241"},"modified":"2025-04-16T16:47:38","modified_gmt":"2025-04-16T16:47:38","slug":"home","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/cicakraus.com\/en\/","title":{"rendered":"Home"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <strong><em>Fundaci\u00f3n Internacional Alfredo Kraus \/ FIAK<\/em><\/strong> and the <strong><em>Cabildo de Gran<\/em><\/strong><em> <strong>Canaria<\/strong><\/em> as principal sponsor are inviting applications for the singing competition <strong><em>X<\/em><\/strong><strong><em> Concurso Internacional de Canto Alfredo<\/em><\/strong> <strong><em>Kraus \/ X CICAK<\/em><\/strong>, to be held in the <strong><em>Auditorio Alfredo Kraus<\/em><\/strong><strong>, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, from 21 to 27 September 2025. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Aiming to support young opera singers of all nationalities, the <strong><em>FIAK<\/em><\/strong> and the <strong><em>Cabildo de Gran Canaria<\/em><\/strong> have revived a personal initiative of Alfredo Kraus. In 1990, Gran Canaria\u2019s illustrious tenor brought to life his project for an international singing competition, held as a biennial event in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, the city of his birth. Alfredo Kraus went on to organise the first five competitions (1990 to 1999).<\/p>\n<p>After the death of Alfredo Kraus, the first phase of the <em>CICAK<\/em> came to an end. Eighteen years later, the <em>FIAK<\/em> launched the second phase of the competition with the <em>VI CICAK 2017<\/em>, followed by the <em>VII CICAK<\/em> <em>2019, <\/em>the<em> VIII CICAK 2021<\/em> and the <em>IX CICAK 2023 <\/em>, all held at the <em>Auditorio Alfredo Kraus<\/em>, in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
